The Future Of Fashion Marketing (homework)

I started studying fashion marketing in February this year and had no previous experience what so ever. Before this year I studied fashion design, window display design and fashion buying and I thought that it would be a good idea to explore the marketing side of the business. Things did not turn out the way I thought, well maybe that is not true, more like I had no idea but I never thought about social media. Never did it enter my mind, which might be odd now, looking back, but that is how it was. I could not understand why companies had all of these Facebook pages and most of all I did not get the meaning of twitter. Now I do. Being the news freak that I am, I am now following a lot of news channels twitters and I know directly when H&M have good offers, also I get all of Rachel Zoe’s fashion comments. Not too bad actually. What I am trying to say is that the online community is growing and there is so much out there and even being the anti everything person that I am I do understand the importance of it and I kind of like it.
I am not a believer in online shopping and I know that I never will be. I am a fabric nerd and need to touch things, online shopping does not satisfy my shopping need. But what I receive from the online world is the discounts and the information about new lines, products and events. This is the future for the online world according to me. To create awareness and make people go to the store and buy their products.
